Doolgunna and Cave Hill

Doolgunna and Cave Hill

This project consists of five granted tenements. It has historical near-surface gold prospecting and drilling activity on it with additional copper targets at depth.

MRC conducted a first-phase exploration and bulk sampling campaign to confirm historical intersections and gold recoveries along a quartz reef known as the Revere Reef, located on tenement E51/1766. Some limited drilling was also carried out on the Lucky Dog Reef, located on P51/2787. There are numerous drill targets and gold occurrences on the Doolgunna project tenements, but the Revere Reef has been assigned priority status due to its high gold content and high level of metasomatic alteration as well as evidence of a number of quartz reef and stockwork structures.

RC drilling during 2018 identified a highly altered mesothermal alteration zone associated within the northeast striking Revere Reef structure. Within this zone, a number of mesothermal quartz veins with high concentrations (300g/t to 1000g/t Au) and lower concentrations (18-30g/t Au) were identified. Grades were determined from field bulk sampling work as well as per reference to previous results obtained by Enterprise Metals Ltd on the same reef structure (AMMTEC bulk sampling results, 2003).

The current Revere Reef structure is inferred to occur over a strike length of 2.6km north of E51/1758 and 1.8km south of E51/1758 (small tenement within the larger tenement of E51/1766). Exploration work is ongoing.
