The deposit is historically known as the Tallanalla vanadium deposit. The vanadium is hosted in the magnetite/martite and to some degree in the ilmenite, with the source rock being mafic gabbro/anorthosite or even dolerite intrusions.

Significant historical work has been undertaken by the previous tenement holders (privately held since 1996), which includes metallurgical tests (Davis Tube, SGS in 2006, and Nagrom in 2008). Bulk sampling head grades varied from a respectable 0.45% V2O5 to high grade feed of 1.29% V2O5. These historical tests indicated positive results with upgrading to a product grade of 0.91% to 1.6% V2O5 reported.

The deposit will be subject to a reverse circulation drilling campaign during 2019.
